Repair of a pipe of a heat-insulated floor and other metalplastic and polyethylene pipes is similar in its own way. Water overlap

Often the desired valve is located next to the pipe or plumbing, where a leak is found. Sometimes it is a common valve that supplies water to the whole apartment or house.

Look for the right valve, looking through the pipe that supplies water to the bath or sink. In addition, there are separate valves on small pipes, to which washing machines are connected.

When such a copper pipe begins to flow, you need to start repairing it immediately.

1. If there is water in the pipe, it should be drained.
2. In the place where the pipe is leaking, put a thick piece of rubber or cut such a piece from an old garden hose. Such a patch should be larger than the leakage zone by 5-6 centimeters in each direction.
3. Fix the patch with a wire or plastic zippers.

How to quickly repair cracked pipe

1. Hose clamps and a fragment of a conventional garden hose.

How to repair cracked water pipe

If steel pipe cracked

To connect this fragment with a pipe, as a rule, a fixing coupling is used.

To overhaul a metal pipe that has cracked, it is necessary to remove the cracked fragment and install a new one. Fixing couplings are applied to fastening.

Repairing a cracked plastic pipe is somewhat more difficult. As a rule, it is not possible to remove the plastic pipe from the fitting, so a cracked segment should be cut out of the pipe, after which a new segment should be installed.

The overhaul of a plastic pipe involves cutting out a damaged segment and replacing it with a new segment, which is mounted with clutches “planted” on glue.

What is the most common cause of damage to steel pipes?
  Most often, steel pipes are damaged by so-called fistulas, which are formed as a result of pitting corrosion.
Can I repair a steel pipe with a fistula?
Damaged pipe should be replaced. However, if for some reason it is impossible to do this at the moment, temporary repairs are carried out. To do this, first block the flow of water to this section of the pipeline, and then expand the fistula formed on the pipe using a core or drill. After that, using a tap, a thread is cut and a bolt is screwed into the prepared hole.
  If the fistula is oblong in shape and repair is impossible in the manner described, it is possible to eliminate the leak by applying a temporary bandage with rubber sealing gaskets. Bandages are screwed on one or both sides. The same can be done with clamps.
  You can impose adhesive bandage compound, which is based on fiberglass impregnated with epoxy glue. The adhesive bandage also allows joining pipes together.
  Fiberglass cut into ribbons, the length and width of which depend on the diameter of the pipeline and the size of damage to the pipe. The tape must be of such length that the tube can be wrapped with it at least 6 times. The width of the tape should be greater than the diameter of the pipe by about 30-40%.
  To the edges of fiberglass do not crumble, the edges of the cuts are impregnated with BF-2 glue. After that, impregnate the tape with epoxy glue. To do this, put glue with a spatula evenly on one side of the tape.
How to temporarily repair a leaking pipe?
  Water is drained from the pipe, a piece of rubber is put in place of the leak, it is clamped with hose clamps, wire stranding (fig. 1) or pipe clamp (fig. 2).

How to defrost the pipe?
  To prevent pipe rupture in the event of long-term shut-off of heating in winter, drain the water from it. If this is not possible, the pipe is urgently defrosted. If the pipes are laid inside the house, turn on the heating and allow them to warm up with the room.
  Pipes located outside the house are defrosted using electric heating tape, electric blankets, a hair dryer or an electric heating lamp. You can also use a propane torch with a flame divider.
