the main - Tools and materials
What material do scraper. Chaber - what is it and its purpose. Temporary fixture file

(another name is pusher) and many people ask how to use it. And often use it wrong. To prevent injury to the nail plate, you need to use the tool very carefully and correctly.

We decided to write detailed instructions so that you can safely take care of your hands and nails at home.

Translated from the German scraper means "scraper". This is a scrapping tool. The scabs are better known as tools for scraping the surface of metal or wood engraving to give it a smooth, smooth look.

In cosmetologists shabera - small spatulas with a flat tip tapering in width. This shape of the scapula is necessary so that it can be used to hook the edge of the pterigia (thin skin at the base of the nail), move it to the base, then to cut it off with tweezers.
There is an assumption that even Queen Cleopatra used the scraper prototype.
Scabs are also called pusher. This name comes from the English word push, which means - “push”, “move”. Pushers and scrapers are synonymous.

Instead scraper and pusher can be used.

Why do you need a pusher?

Manicure tool, like a toothbrush - the subject of individual use. In nail salons, there are instruments of general use, but after each client the master sterilizes them, therefore their use is safe. At home, it will not be possible to properly sterilize tools properly, so it is more logical that each family member has his own scraper. You can, of course, use one if you are not worried about it.

Pusher is used for all procedures of manicure and pedicure, as well as in the preparation of natural nails before. On a smooth, cleared of pterigia nail better gel falls.

Pusher for manicure is an essential tool for pushing the cuticle. You will not be able to effectively remove any other thin skin of the skin. It will grow constantly, forming unattractive rags of the skin, contributing to the formation of burrs. In addition, the film covers the base of the nail, prevents the absorption of creams and oils for nails. Few pterygia people grow together neatly. Most often it looks untidy, it grows in layers, cracks, felt when touched, scratches the skin, clings to clothing.

How to choose a pusher for a manicure?

Since the shape of nails in people is different, the pushers are sold in different forms. There is an oval spatula, there is, there is a semicircular.

When buying a scraper, ask the seller to review the status of the tool. If you are allowed to try, as he pushes the cuticle back, turn around and leave. Allowed you, allow everyone. And it is not safe: you can get an infection because of a tool that someone has already used, because after all this test, the seller is unlikely to sterilize pusher. But how then to make sure that the tool suits you? You can use a proven method!

Swipe the back of the scapula across the palm of your hand, on which a thin food wrap lies. Take it with you to the store. The scraper should not scratch, should slide smoothly, do not leave hooks, get stuck. Use both work surfaces to roll over a film spread on a hard surface. Does it slide smoothly? Do not wrinkle the film?

You should be comfortable holding it in your hands. Try moving it between your fingers, doing actions similar to what you do when you take care of your hands, in the air. Doesn't any movement bore you? Is it convenient for you to move the tool? This is very important because the procedure of moving the cuticle often takes up to half an hour. If the pusher is uncomfortable, hands will get very tired.

Nail pad (pusher for manicure) should you like a purely visual, it should lie comfortably in your hand. Practice has shown that most of the customers in our store agreed: the most suitable tool for moving the cuticle is the Mertz 109 scraper. It has an anatomical shape and a nice design. The flat tip of the pusher is oval, that is, universal. This pusher can move the cuticle from the nails of any shape.

The opposite tip of the pusher is also a workman. It often looks like a hatchet. They can clean the space under the nails, pick up very delicate and thin areas of pterygium, clean the space between the side rollers of the skin and the nail. This pusher tip is also useful for prying an ingrown toenail.

What is pusher for, we have explained. But it is not enough to know how the scraper is used. It is also necessary to understand how the nail works, so as not to damage it during processing.

A little theory of the structure of nails

The entire skin that surrounds the nails is called not the cuticle, but the nail roller.
The half-moon near the cuticle is called the moonula. In some people, it is not visible at all, in others this “crescent” is clearly visible. Below the moon, at the base of the skin, is the most vulnerable part of the nail plate. All actions with this zone are carried out very gently, delicately, without pressure. And even more so this area is not sawed with low abrasive files, they do not injure.

Part of the nail roller in the area of the lunula is the cuticle. The rest of the skin that grows along the edge of the nail is called the side bolster.

How to use pusher? When you move the side roller away, some pressure is appropriate. When you remove the cuticle, you cannot press on the surface of the moon at all. Therefore, before manicure, the hands and soften in the bath with soapy water or using a special means to remove the cuticle.

When the skin is ready to be removed, take the scraper and with gentle soft movements push the skin to the base of the nail. The cuticle moves, and under it begins to move away from the nail plate thin pterygium. If it is more difficult to move, and here the pointed tip of the pusher is useful. You can pick them up and lift them up. Then also slide it with the flat tip of the pusher toward the base.

IMPORTANT! Pterygium is removed only in the direction from the center to the edges of the nail, and not to the base of the cuticle!

If you want to do a manicure at home, in addition to scrapers and pushers, you can purchase many others in our online store. You can view photos of products, choose the tool that you like visually. We bring only products of reputable brands, so you can not worry that the manicure scraper purchased from us will be inconvenient or low-quality.

The scraper locksmith tool is used to process rubbing surfaces with low roughness to obtain an accurate shape and size and to ensure maximum fit and tightness of the joint. As a rule, the scraper cuts off small chips on the surface, which was previously processed by other cutting tools.

1

Shabrenie is quite time-consuming process, which in some cases requires jewelry accuracy. In practice, metalworking works on metal, in which the scraper is used, make up about 25 percent of the total. That is why at the present stage there is an active mechanization of work and more and more often machines or electric tools are used.

The scraper consists of replaceable plates in the working part, a metal body, a special screw and a handle. Triangular scraper can be solid or composite (equipped with carbide steel plates). In this case, the tools differ in the shape of the edge, which can be flat (made in the form of a straight plate with a straight or curved end), triangular or shaped (under the shape of the workpiece). The cutting edges of the scraper are one-sided or two-sided, they are chosen depending on the complexity of the work and the material of the working surface of the part.

The scraper is made of carbon steel of various grades and strengths (U10, U12, U12a) or from the corresponding grades. Its length can vary in the range of 190-550 millimeters, and the width depends on the method of scraping (from 5 to 75 millimeters). Triangular scraper is mainly used for processing cylindrical surfaces, and scrapers with plates of hard alloys - for processing heavy metals. Shaped scrapers are used mainly for closed contours, grooves and other hard-to-reach surfaces.

Carbon Steel Bench Scraper

There are also disk scrapers, in which the cutting part is made in the form of a hardened steel disk with a nut fixed to the body, which saves time when sharpening, since the entire surface of the disk can be used consistently and evenly. An even more effective manual option is a hexagonal plate tool, since each face can be subjected to universal sharpening for working with surfaces of various metals. A set of plates for such a scraper is made of solid steel, and the replacement process does not take much time.

It should be understood that the compound scrapers are lighter in weight and more convenient to operate due to the fact that they spring in the process of scraping, and this makes it possible to increase the accuracy of the process.

As for the standards of GOST, they are not provided for scraping and scraper. There are certain types of scrapers, which are considered to be universal, and in other cases the plates for the tool and its components are made by special order for a specific type of scraping works and the needs of workers in production.

2

Before you choose a set of scrapers for metal, composite, electric or conventional, it is necessary to determine the degree of complexity of the work. First of all, you should inspect the surface for the need for coarser processing, for example, milling or planing. If sharp edges are detected at the edges of the metal, they must first be cleaned with a file, after which the gap level can be measured, this can be done with a ruler or bar. The surface is ready for cleaning if the gap does not exceed 0.05 mm.

Before starting work, the surface is applied to a testing bench plate, on which a thin layer of paint is applied.  The paint can be made from different materials, but more often a combination of engine oil with soot or blue is used. Then the surface moves along the plate with uniform, forward movements, after which the scratching spots are determined by the paint stains that remained on the surface.

Slab plate

It lasts for several cycles, after each of which the check with the help of the painted plate must be carried out again until the desired result is obtained. The process itself can be rough, precise, fine or fair (depending on the reception of the scraper, the tool and the final goal of the work). The triangular tool itself must be sharpened as precisely as possible, and the length of the cutting edge should be chosen based on the hardness of the metal. The harder it is, the blade should already be.

To work effectively with this tool, it is important to observe the cutting geometry. The standard taper angle is 90 degrees, but in some cases it is recommended to reduce or increase the angle by sharpening, especially when it comes to solid metals. For example, the taper angle for machining cast iron should be in the range of 90-100 degrees, steel - 75-90, and for light metals not higher than 45 degrees.

The triangular scraper is sharpened on automatic and semi-automatic machines using an emery wheel of various grain sizes (from 30 to 60) and a hardness of CM1-3, and the plates of solid steel are ground on special grinding wheels using cooling. After sharpening, it is also necessary to correct the blades with abrasive wheels in order to remove all irregularities and burrs, which reduce the quality of scraping.

To speed up the process of scrubbing surfaces, you can use mechanized equipment. An electric scraper consists of an electric motor of a certain power, a gearbox, a shaft, a connecting rod, and a special nozzle, which is easily sharpened and changed. A high-quality electric tool can speed up the processing process several times, however, the price of a mechanized machine is quite high, so many mechanics prefer to work "in the old manner", especially since you can use a failed file as a flat scraper.

Electrical Scraping Equipment

However, an electric scraper can be used not only for processing metal surfaces, but with the right approach, it can be used to make a universal repair tool that is suitable for grinding or removing an unnecessary layer of paint, plaster from the ceiling or walls. Many models have a set of plates-nozzles that can be used when working with plastic, wood, concrete and other surfaces. Unlike other electrical equipment, scrapers have a small mass and convenient fasteners for attachments of various diameters and shapes.

Such a tool as a scraper is known in various industries. What is it, well known not only the mechanic, but also the master of manicure. Of course, this is not exactly about the same device, but their principle of operation and design are similar. Let's find out more.

1 What is a tool and what tool is needed for this?

This term came to us from Germany and in translation means "to scrape", this word describes the process of scrubbing as much as possible. The tool itself, on the one hand, has a three- or four-sided handle, and on the other hand, a pointed tip made of tool steel. To obtain the necessary hardness (HRC 64–66), the cutting part is subjected to quenching.

The tool length is usually from 20 to 40 cm, and the width is 15–20, 20–30 mm for finishing and roughing, respectively. Also, depending on the purpose of the work, the tip angle is different. If we are talking about the final, finishing operation, then it is 90 degrees, while roughing this parameter ranges from 75 to 90 degrees. And when finishing processing of metal surfaces is necessary, the tool's end should be sharpened to its axis at an angle of 90–100 degrees.

2 What types of scraper are used for?

Such devices differ by several parameters. First of all, it is the shape of the cutting part. They can be shaped (the working part completely repeats the shape of the workpiece), flat or triangular. Disk tools are well proven when working with wide surfaces. Many-sided perfectly cope with cylindrical and concave planes. And if it is necessary to process a groove or a groove, then nothing can cope with such a task better than a flat scraper. For turning round parts, the cutting tool is made in the form of a ring.

There are also collapsible and solid tools. If on the one hand there is a wooden, plastic or other handle, and on the other hand a cutting tool, then such a scraper is one-sided. But demand and bilateral devices. They are considered more durable. The working end can be flat and curved. The latter are in demand in the processing of soft metals and sharp corners. Also the drive is different. Only a few decades ago, only manual gadgets were encountered; today a scraper with a pneumatic and even electric drive can be found on the market. True, it is still necessary to control the process manually, but efforts are not needed.

3 Who can use a scraper?

Such a tool is used for the same name. It consists in removing the thinnest layer from 0.005 to 0.7 mm. Abrasion is very often processed mating parts with a minimum level of roughness. These may include plain bearings, measuring device surfaces (rulers, squares, calibration plates, etc.). Sometimes there is tile scraping.

Processing technology depends on the material. Soft metals will grind at an angle of 35–40 degrees. For steels, this indicator increases and ranges from 75 to 90 degrees. A scrape angle of more than 90 degrees is maintained when working with cast iron and bronze products.

But the scope does not end there. Using a scraper, you can engrave on a tree either. It is difficult to imagine without him and edge processing. Need to remove the old coating, silicone, dried gum? This device will be the best assistant. At the beginning of the article, the art of manicure was mentioned - in this case, the scraper is a wooden or metal stick with one pointed end, and the other tip is made in the form of a spatula.

4 Features of operation scraper

The question cannot be considered settled until we consider how to use the scraper. Immediately it should be noted that it is very important to choose the right tool, this has already been said above. Sometimes you may need a whole set. You can purchase and universal scraper with removable knives. In this case, in order to replace the cutting part, you just have to unscrew the fastening screw and insert the necessary plate.

If there are deep scratches and other defects on the surface, then it is first necessary to treat it with a coarser tool, for example, grind on a milling machine.  Then we apply a thin layer of paint on the calibration plate and stretch the part that needs to be cleaned over this surface. As a result, all projections, even the smallest, will be painted. But to achieve the desired effect, the slab surface should be perfectly smooth, and the paint should be uniform, not thick, and without large particles.

Now is the time for immediate scraping. Fix the part in a vice, if necessary, use silicone or rubber gaskets. Firmly hold the handle of the tool with two hands and begin to move it "on itself." The angle between the cutting edge and the surface to be treated is about 80 °. First, the most prominent sections are removed. We check the surface again, and at the same time try to apply a thin layer of paint on the calibration plate. Repeat the operation until the desired result is achieved.

The term "scraper" means a tool designed for scraping. Different types of scrapers are used in various crafts, in dentistry and other areas of human activity. A quality manicure scraper is an indispensable tool for every person who is used to “thinking about the beauty of nails”. Sometimes scraper is called pusher or manicure scapula.

Before we talk about the types of scrapers and the rules for their use, it is worth knowing what it is? The main purpose of the nail scraper is to move the cuticle and remove the pterygium (so called thin skin, which grows on the lower part of the nail). Thus, this tool is necessary for the care of the fingers and toes (there are pedicure scraper).

Pterigy removal is an obligatory hygienic procedure that prevents the occurrence of burrs. Therefore, pusher is used for almost all preparatory procedures when performing manicure, including the preparation of nail plates for the extension procedure.

Tool types

Looking at the photos of various manicure tools, you can see that scrapers are different:

  • unilateral, which have one working surface;
  • double-sided, with two working surfaces. Wider, made in the form of a scapula, is used to move the cuticle. The narrow side, resembling a hatchet, flat blade or spear, is used to clean the nails and remove pterygia;
  • with a rubber tip to reduce the risk of injury to the nail plate;
  • pedicure blades, characterized by a wider working part.

Scabs is the process of final finishing of surfaces, ensuring a tight fit and tightness. This method is used to treat metal surfaces. It is used by lithographers and sculptors. Also, a similar technology is used when processing the nail plate for manicure and pedicure.

Scraping tools

The final finishing of metal surfaces is carried out with special tools scrapers. They have different designs. The scraper is a metal-cutting tool, made in the form of a rod with a cutting edge.

The form can be flat, triangular and shaped. There are also several design solutions for the manufacture of this tool. Scrapes for metal can be integral or with an insert cutting part, manual or mechanical. Make scrapers of carbon or

Manicure scraper - what is it?

They have several fixtures. Scissors, wire cutters and nail files are well-known tools. At the same time, other components of the manicure kit are ignored. Narimer, scraper. What it is? This is a tool for cutting and processing the nail plate. Manicure knives - a miniature exquisite tool, different from the Sabers, are necessarily present in a set with other devices. Outwardly, they look like a small stick with a metal plate at the end.

There are many varieties of scrapers, differing in shape and size. The shape of the cutting blades have a different configuration. They can be flat, square, oval, semicircular. This tool is made from medical high-alloyed stainless steel. They can also be made of plastic or wood. More practical double-sided scraper. What it is? This tool has two working surfaces that have different functional purpose. The cutting edge is made in the form of a scapula, a pointed spear or a hatchet.

For the correct use of the manicure tool you need to know its purpose. One type of scrapers is a paddle. This type of instrument has several functional purposes. First of all, the scapula can easily push back the cuticle.

In addition, this type of scraper is used to remove a thin layer of skin growing on the nail plate. This procedure avoids the formation of burrs. It is also quite convenient with a spatula to prepare the nail plate to perform the extension.

The next type of scrapers is the edge of which is made in the form of a miniature hatchet. It has a multifunctional application. The main purpose of the hatchet or scraper is to clean the free part and the sides of the nail from the present contamination, as well as to remove the hardened dead cells. This tool removes ingrown skin, form a beautiful shape of the nail plate. When performing pedicure scrapers are indispensable for processing

For modeling and correction of the nail plate using scraper, the tip of which is made in the form of a knife-spatula. This type of tool can be used to remove the horniness of the skin, as well as calluses.

How to choose a scraper?

When buying a scoop or hatchet for a manicure, you should pay attention to the material from which they are made. Durable and easy-to-use tools made from medical and stainless steel. Wooden and plastic devices are quite fragile and impractical.

You should pay attention to how sharpened scraper. What it is? This is the state of the cutting edge. Sharpening makes scraper a professional tool. It should be uniform, free of burrs. Preference is given to scrapers, sharpened by hand. The normal surface of the cutting edge does not scratch the palm.

Also pay attention to the pen. It should be comfortable and not slip in your hand.

Buying a cuticle scapula, pay attention to the features Shabery have a different configuration. When used at home, they are selected based on individual characteristics. The shape of the cuticle has a different structure. In accordance with this parameter pick up the tool. Square or almond-shaped form is easier to handle with a device of the appropriate type. Prefer oval-shaped scrapers. This type of device is more versatile and applicable to any configuration of nails.

Rules for operating scrapers

Requires special care. After each use, all tools are disinfected. But with improper processing, the cutting edges can darken and corrode. Liquid sterilizers, such as "Alaminol" and "Aktibor" are recommended for disinfecting. At home, use skin antiseptics. There are also other types of tool disinfection. In order not to spoil it, you should know which processing methods can be used for the purchased kit.

In addition to disinfection, metal scrapers require periodic sharpening of the cutting edge. This operation is performed no more than once a year.
