• Mounting ceiling guides and drywall on the ceiling

A large number of materials for the installation of suspended ceilings are presented on the modern market, from satin fabrics to suede. Lumpy, plain, colored, smooth stretch fabrics will help create original building compositions of ceilings. Suspended and tension structures with excellent qualities, but also drawbacks, are mounted on the basis of various technological methods, the use of which will help people who have no idea how to do it on their own.

Principles for the installation of drywall ceilings and special tools

For the installation of the tensile structure, it is necessary from 3 to 5 hours of work, which will be performed by two experienced craftsmen. To install the ceiling structure yourself, for example, from drywall, you will need work for two or three work shifts. Stretch ceilings differ from gypsum plasterboards in that they allow you to create the most unique forms that are simple and easy to care for.

The use of ceiling structures in the presence of a high degree of humidity in the room should not cause concern to the owner stretch ceiling. Here you will need the support of a master who will merge water or change the canvas for an additional fee.

The use of drywall in high humidity conditions will spoil the appearance of the ceiling, but the material itself greatly wins in prices before the stretch fabric. You can cope with the process of replacing the materials used for false ceilings yourself. At the same time, it will be too expensive to do the ceiling yourself, because you need to purchase all the tools, and then they may not be needed.

It is not difficult to make the installation of the ceiling yourself. The following tools will be required when installing a suspended ceiling from drywall:

  • hacksaw for metal;
  • painting thread;
  • bulgarian;
  • roulette;
  • hammer drill or drill with shock mode (with a drill);
  • ladder;
  • a screwdriver with a set of bits;
  • hammer;
  • scissors for metal;
  • rule
  • tracer (choklayn);
  • water, laser level.

You can create a ceiling using the following materials:

  • drywall;
  • steel profile;
  • suspensions;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • dowels;
  • tapes for reinforcing joints;
  • putties;
  • self-tapping screws.

The whole process of installing the ceiling is quite time-consuming, but it is possible to carry out the work through the installation and decoration of the plasterboard ceiling using a stretch fabric. The designed ceiling design due to the hinged and suspended structure will give the interior special beauty, an interesting and mysterious look.

All works that are done independently include:

  • development of the design of the ceiling of drywall;
  • manufacturing of a frame for a ceiling structure;
  • fixing drywall to the ceiling;
  • putty of the ceiling structure;
  • painting or pasting wallpaper on gypsum board core material.

How to develop the design of the ceiling structure yourself

You can design the entire ceiling scheme, which includes both drywall and stretch canvas, if you have special experience. Appropriate use of all necessary materials will help to preserve the ceiling for a long time, so as not to repair this structure too often.

First of all, when developing the design of the ceiling structure, it must be remembered that installing PVC stretch ceilings when using a drywall design is most successful and economically profitable if you only use a stretch canvas.

It is possible to make it real only from drywall, polycarbonate or plastic, but for the sake of an interesting play of light, colors and shadows, which open up unlimited possibilities for designing, it is becoming more and more acceptable to use stretch fabrics when decorating a room.

As a result, taking into account the positive selection of finishing materials, the entire ceiling structure is effective and comfortable. It is better to compare varnish stretch ceiling or glossy with elements from drywall. Decorated with lighting that gently reflects the entire room, which is provided for by the interior design, the ceiling will visually increase it.

How to make a frame for a false ceiling and set the level of drywall

Before starting work, you must accurately make all the necessary measurements. Since the ceiling may be uneven, it is best to measure its parameters over the entire surface of the wall. The wall should be smooth, without defects on the surface. To measure, you can use the means at hand, which allows you not to determine the size of each defective line on the ceiling.

Ceiling material should be mounted on a prefabricated frame. It is created using metallic profile or a crate of wood. First, draw a lighting scheme on a piece of paper. Using spotlights is a fashionable trend, so it is best to prepare specially wiring for them. It is best to bring the wire to the ceiling, making a pre-strobe. After completing all the work, they begin to mount the frame.

The frame is made not without a preliminary scheme, since it allows you to provide for each protrusion on the ceiling, which will make it more beautiful. Installation of various shapes of steps for protrusions can sometimes be done on the floor, and then hung on the ceiling using a profile or lathing.

After mounting the frame begin to lay the wiring, only then carry out the finishing of the frame material. You can use not only drywall, but also polycarbonate, which includes acrylic plastic. To putty joints and screws on the ceiling of drywall, you can use putty, and for plastic, others decoration Materialswhose cost is not too high.

After attaching a sheet of material to the frame, simultaneously through the hole in the sheet provided for the lamp, an electric wire is output. Make these holes in advance, while the sheet is not yet fixed to the frame. After fixing all the main sheets, the installation of the steps begins, for which it is necessary to give the frame from the profile or crate the appropriate shape.

Making a two-level plasterboard suspended ceiling

Image 1. Scheme of fixing a two-level ceiling without illumination on the first level.

Before you need to find out what will be the highest level that can be left: an existing ceiling, or a plasterboard ceiling, or a stretch fabric. If the ceiling surface is even, then you will not need to spend additional funds, spend time on its leveling.

If you want to do several levels, then the surface of the ceiling in the room should be painted and plastered, and then start the device of a new level from drywall. To perform a two-level ceiling in the first way, that is, without backlighting, it is necessary to make a continuous joint by installing each of the fixtures on the second ceiling level from plasterboard. This is shown in the diagram (Figure 1).

Installation of a two-level ceiling in the second way is carried out according to a special scheme, for example, as in the figure (Image 2), and hidden lighting is provided in the ceiling structure. Thanks to this design, the effect of diffused soft light is created. Drywall is used to create two levels, one of which will be equipped with halogen lighting devices.

Image 2. Scheme of mounting a two-level ceiling using hidden lighting.

You can arrange the second level in the third way by mounting, covered with drywall, and not plastered, as in the first version. This is reflected in the diagram (Figure 3). Pre-draw a plan that shows the layout of the sheets. The drawing is carried out taking into account all the required dimensions of the GCR, which speeds up the installation process. Given the standard dimensions of the sheet, it will be more convenient to make the ceiling structure.

The ceiling before installation of GKL on it is cleaned, and large cracks are putty on it. For laying electrical cables, a corrugated pipe or metal hose is used. Applying the laser level, as well as the painting thread, you should mark the space where the upper ceiling level is fixed, taking into account the entire perimeter of the room. However, the thickness of the drywall sheet must also be taken into account.

If the height of your room exceeds 250 cm, then this suggests that you can make a plasterboard ceiling in two levels without compromising the height of the room. In this article, we will learn how to make two-level drywall ceilings yourself, and you can also see a video demonstration of such work.

We bring to your attention a simple version of the second level, but, nevertheless, containing the principles of production of complex curly ceilings.

Arrangement of two-level ceilings

Markup

  • Between the set marks, beat off with the chocline the reference line of the first level frame, since it is possible to correctly make a two-level ceiling only if all the ceiling levels are level.
  • Determine in which direction the gypsum plasterboards (GKL) will be suspended and cross the ceiling in 50 cm across this direction.
      To do this, put marks under the ceiling along the GCR direction and, using the chocline, beat off the lines.

Tip. When marking a room under the ceiling, the water level cones abut the ceiling, and you have to draw water almost to failure.

Therefore, you better remove these cones and use one tube.

First level frame

  • First of all, you need to install the UD profile to the wall. If there are no mounting holes on the profile, drill a wall directly through the profile, which is installed at the bottom of the guide line.
      Keep the distance between the fasteners from 40 to 50 cm.
  • For the installation of profiles, it is best to use dowels-dummies, with a diameter of 6 mm and screws, with a diameter of 4-5 mm (the length of the dowels and screws does not really matter).
      To fasten the frame elements to the main ceiling, you will need a flared dowel, with a hat on the sleeve, as ordinary dowels fall into voids that are in concrete.
      It is also good to use impact dowels (there is a cap) for this purpose, but the screw from the kit must be replaced with a thicker one.

  • Now we fasten the suspensions along the lines that have been beaten off on the ceiling, taking into account the above requirements for dowels and screws. The distance between the suspensions should be no more than 50-60 cm.
      Do not neglect these requirements, since you can make a two-level gypsum board ceiling yourself only by correctly following these instructions.

  • Under the installed suspensions, install the CD profiles by inserting them into the openings of the UD profiles screwed to the wall.
      Under, for leveling, you need to tighten the kapron thread, but the sagging CD will prevent it, so each profile needs to be pulled up with an average suspension, bending the ears of the suspension under the profile.

  • The thread is fixed with self-tapping screws on the UD profiles screwed to the wall, across the CD profiles. On this thread each level is set.
      They are fastened to the suspensions with special small self-tapping screws, and the profiles at the joints are fastened with the same screws. The protruding ears of the suspensions can be bent to the sides.

Tip. When buying screws for drywall profiles, check their suitability.

The screw should not fall from the nozzle number 2, even if it is placed in a horizontal position, or even if the screw is slightly lowered down.

Drywall Installation

  • To save money and time in those places where there will be a second level, GCR to the first level can not be filed.

Second level

  • As mentioned above, we will consider how to make the second level of the ceiling of low complexity, but with an element of a figured ceiling.
      First you need to draw the contours of this level, and then cut the side walls of the profile after 5-10 cm (the distance should be the same) and screw it through the gypsum plaster to the upper frame along the drawn line. In this case, take the UW profile 75 mm wide.

  • We fasten the same UD profile to the wall, which is 25 mm wide and insert CD profiles between the wall and the bend, screwing them with screws to the profiles holding them.
      If the CD Profile is longer than 50 cm, then it should be further strengthened by a suspension screwed through the GCR to the upper frame.
  • Stitch the second level with drywall and cut off the excess with a hacksaw already on the ceiling, as it is easier to keep the figure.
      You already understood how to make two-level ceilings correctly, but there is still a vertical plane.

  • During the installation of ceilings, do not forget about the fixtures, since two-level ceilings can only be made with illumination.

Conclusion

If you adhere to the principles set forth above, then you can make more complex figures on the ceiling. By the same principles, you can also mount the third level of plasterboard ceiling.

Today, suspended and suspended ceilings are very popular. Their choice is not only a tribute to fashion. The appearance of such ceilings makes the living room much more modern and attractive. Many are limited to a single-level ceiling, but those who dare to build a two-level design have much more opportunities to realize their design imagination. Of course, it’s more difficult to build a ceiling on two levels, so many are interested in how to make a two-level ceiling so that it becomes a highlight of the interior and attracts attention.

Preparatory work

For repairs of this magnitude, full access to the ceiling surface is needed. In order for nothing to interfere with movement, it is necessary to free the room as much as possible from all pieces of furniture, in extreme cases, move it to a place where the master will not need to be during installation.

Then you need to examine the ceiling. It is desirable that its surface is in satisfactory condition. This will save you from additional work when installing the frame structure, which must ensure the reliability of the fastening. It is imperative to create a project for a two-level ceiling with drawings on which the necessary dimensions will be applied. The implementation of this stage of work will make it possible to calculate the amount of necessary materials. At the preparatory stage, it is equally important to pre-think the layout and layout of lighting fixtures.

Before undertaking the arrangement of a two-level ceiling, you need to carefully examine the surface of the existing floor. If the old whitewash or paint peels off, it is necessary to clean with a spatula to a layer of plaster or floor slab. If the plaster is without areas with delaminations and cracks, it is possible to finish the finish with plaster. If the ceiling is sometimes covered with cracks or the stucco lags behind the ceiling surface, the unsuitable area is cleaned to the very base. Then the surface is thoroughly treated with a primer and then a mixture of plaster. If the ceiling is streaked with a web of cracks, and more than a third of the total area of the ceiling surface is damaged, it is advisable to completely plaster it. The ceiling, which is characterized by significant irregularities and differences, will also have to be stuccoed completely. If the bumps are less than one centimeter deep, you can simply apply a paint net and putty several times to form a flat surface. Before undertaking the execution of subsequent work, you need to wait some time until the fresh putty and plaster are completely dry.

Work on the calculation of a two-level ceiling

Work at the design stage is considered difficult, and it will determine how a two-level ceiling will look in the future. When calculating the work, you need to draw the contours of the designed ceiling, determine the location of the protruding structural fragments and hidden niches, as well as outline the installation points of the lighting devices. If you do not have enough skills and qualifications to carry out design work on this profile, you can attach one of the typical options to this particular room.

When the project with the design solution is completed, you can take on the development of the design scheme for the future ceiling and the calculation of materials necessary for construction. This is done in several stages.

Based on the overall dimensions of the room, the perimeter is determined. For example, we take a room with a length and width of 6 m and 4 m, respectively. Hence the perimeter P = 6 · 2 + 4 · 2 = 20 linear meters. This number will determine the length of the UD profile of direction (PN). For a ceiling with two levels, the direction profile must be multiplied by 2, since it will be necessary to produce another structural guide for the second level.

Note! If during construction the opposite walls turned out to be of different sizes, the length of the larger of them is taken into account. It will be listed in the calculations.

Now you need to determine the number of CD-profiles for the frame (PP). The profile for the frame will be fixed with a distance of 0.6 m between each other, and the length of its slats should correspond to the width of the room. We divide the length of the room 6.0 m by 0.6 and get exactly 10 profile rails for the frame, 4.0 m each.

Note! The distance between the rails of the frame profile of 0.6 m was not chosen by chance. Since gypsum plasterboard sheets are produced in standard sizes with a width of 0.6 and 1.2 m, when installing them, it is necessary to lay the sheets so that their edges coincide with the location of the profile rails. The standard length of drywall sheets. In this case, a size of 2.5 m is suitable.

Knowing how many profile rails are needed for the frame, you can easily determine the number of direct suspensions that will act as fasteners for the slats. The distance between the suspensions is 0.6 m, but the first fasteners are fixed from the walls along the guide at a distance of 0.3 m. As a result (4.0: 0.6) · 10≈66 suspension units for fixing the frame profile.

To strengthen the ceiling structure at 2 levels, you must additionally place jumpers between the main frame profiles and clamps for them, which are called crabs. First you need to determine the number of crabs, the distance between which will be 0.6 m. By the same principle for calculating crabs, 66 units are obtained. As a result, there are 7 rows of jumpers, which in length will reach 6.0 m.

Note! Crabs and lintels should be at a distance from the walls, based on the dimensions of the structure at the second level. For example, with the existing width at the second level of 0.6 m and the future illumination of the hidden type, the jumper at the beginning and at the end will be installed at a distance of 0.5 m from the wall surface.

After calculating the necessary dimensions and the number of fasteners of the first level, it comes to the second. At this level, the calculations are simpler. For jumpers of the lower level, you will need 24 CD profile elements of 0.4 m each and an additional 4 of 1.0 m each for connecting in the corners. In addition, 28 suspensions are required to fix the jumpers.

Note! Direct suspensions are used only if the ceiling height of the second level will not exceed 0.12 m.

If there is a need to strengthen the frame structure and create additional fasteners for drywall sheets arranged vertically, it is necessary to purchase racks from the CD profile. Racks should be the same number as the counted second-level jumpers, namely 28 units.

At the last stage, you need to determine the number of drywall sheets. The calculation is simple due to the standard size. For installation in the rooms of residential buildings, it is best to use sheets with dimensions of 2.5 × 0.6 m or 2.5 × 1.2 m. To calculate the required number of sheets, it is necessary to measure the area of the upper ceiling level at the profile edges and divide by the area of the sheet itself . As a result, it will become known how many sheets will be needed for the first or top level. The calculation of the lower or second level is carried out identically, with the only difference being that the area of vertical walls and edges that protrude beyond the structure is added. Having counted the number of drywall sheets, you need to determine their thickness. Based on strength and weight, the best choice would be drywall sheets with a thickness of 9.5 mm.

Note! In many cases, a two-level ceiling is created only along the contour of the room, and the middle is left single-level. On these types of ceilings you can save money. In addition, it becomes possible to build a stretch ceiling or otherwise show imagination.

Wiring device

First you need to determine the points of installation of lighting devices. After that, the power consumed by all electrical devices and the number of wires in meters are calculated. Having all the data on hand, you need to buy a wire of the required thickness. The wires still need to purchase a cable channel, mounting box and corrugation. The latter can be directly extended through the entire frame structure. Other elements must be correctly and reliably fixed to the walls, ceiling and between each other. These operations are performed using different dowels, anchor bolts and screws:

  • for fixing to the surfaces of the ceiling and walls, dowels and self-tapping screws 6 × 60 mm or 6 × 40 mm are required, the fastening step is 0.3 m;
  • for fastening profiles with suspensions and crabs between themselves, self-tapping screws LN9, LB9 or LN11, LB11 are used;
  • for fixing sheets, self-tapping screws MN30 and MN25 are used with a distance between fastenings of 0.25 mm.

Note! Four crab fastens, and a suspension with two self-tapping screws. When performing work, it is better to use assistants.

Installation of a two-level false ceiling

Consider how to mount a two-level ceiling with your own hands in the most popular version. To do this, you need to do certain operations.

  • After the surface of the ceiling is brought into full order, we mark on the wall with a tape measure the height of the ceiling by 2 levels. The thickness of the drywall sheet is not taken into account. On the surface of the wall are several marks that are connected by a thread. The masking thread is pulled and released, as a result of which a straight line is displayed, which is the level of the mounted ceiling, from which it is necessary to repel during further work.
  • Marking is applied to the surface of the ceiling for the profile of the CD frame. Using the applied marking, a suspension is attached to which the profile is fixed. The same procedure is repeated - again, a clear line is drawn with a masking thread. After that, with a distance of 0.6 m, marks are applied for the remaining profile rails.
  • Then, holes are drilled in the UD guide profile for fixation with a distance of 0.3 m from each other. The profile is attached to the wall, and its bottom should coincide with the line made. After this, the chipper should slightly crash into serifs on the surface under the dowel and make holes with a puncher. The dowels are driven into the holes, a profile is strung on them and screwed with screws to the wall.

Note! The number of self-tapping screws and screws that will need to be screwed in is large, so for convenience and speed, it is better to use a screwdriver.

Note! The holes should be made along a line that should be strictly perpendicular to the suspension and intersect it only in the center.

  • At the first level, it remains to fix the frame jumpers. To do this, use the special scissors or grinder to cut the jumpers in the right amount and size from the CD profile. To install the jumper in its place, we place it under the lower part of the crab, press, snap and fasten them together with two screws.

The frame of the first level is ready. It is the turn to install the lower level structure. The work is carried out according to the well-known scenario, only minor amendments are made:

  • then plasterboard sheets are fixed. Work begins at the top level. For greater stability, the sheets are attached to the profile first in different places, fixed to the ceiling by suspensions. For fixing, self-tapping screws are used, which are screwed in with a distance of 0.25 m;
  • after the work with the upper level is completed, work with the lower level begins. At this stage, so that the sheets are exactly flush with the profiles, they must be carefully trimmed. This is done simply - with the help of a ruler, cardboard is cut one-sidedly, a break is made and cutting is carried out on the other side. If necessary, pass along the edges of the plane. At the end, the sheet is attached to the profile;
  • it remains only to sew up the internal structures with vertical guiding elements of drywall between two levels. They are screwed to vertical profile posts. If the lower level has a specific configuration, the cut drywall strip is soaked in water. After it becomes flexible for bending, the plate is given the desired shape, applied to the profile and fixed.

At the final stage of arranging a two-level ceiling, holes are made at certain points for the conclusion of the ends of the wires. The protruding edge of the sheet is glued with a plasterboard border, which will hide the backlight. The joints of the ceiling are primed and putty. After the ceiling surface has dried, the turn of finishing and connecting lighting devices comes. An example of manufacturing a two-level ceiling can be seen in the video:

Installation of a two-level stretch ceiling

Installing a stretch ceiling on two levels is a little easier compared to a suspended one. To a large extent this applies to the type of supporting structure. In addition, much less material is used to equip a suspended two-level ceiling. Other nuances of the work are similar to those described above. Again, you need to start work by creating a new project in which the ceiling design will be completely different, and recalculating materials. The main difference between a suspended two-level ceiling and a suspended ceiling is that in the first embodiment, the lower belt is located only along the contour of the room. The central part of the structure is left for the tension web. To build such a ceiling, you must do the following:

  1. Along the perimeter of the room you need to build a single-level structure of plasterboard sheets. Installation is carried out in the same way as when installing the above ceiling.
  2. The profile to which the tension web will be attached is fixed to the constructed structure at the required height.
  3. With the help of a heat radiator, both the canvas and the room are heated. After that, the material can be tensioned.
  4. First, two corners of the canvas are fixed, diagonally opposite to each other, then the turn of the other two corners is suitable. Contour stretching occurs alternately from different sides.
  5. At the final stage, lighting devices are connected.

Mounting a multi-level ceiling is much more difficult than mono-construction. Work is laborious, requires concentration and knowledge. When tensioning the canvas of the second level, you need to work with assistants, all actions must be coordinated.

Plasterboard two-level ceiling with applications

Recently, not a single interior design is complete without a beautiful and practical design of the ceiling. Modern designers agree that the interior should be thought out to the smallest detail, and the ceiling plays a rather important role. Tier ceilings are created by gypsum sheets, which allows you to play with the space of the ceiling, make recesses, steps, various arches, figures and canopies. You can make a two-level ceiling with your own hands according to your own sketch, which will meet all your desires and requirements.

Preparation for the installation of drywall bunk ceilings

Drywall is essentially a sheet of building cardboard gypsum plated on both sides. It was first created in the 19th century, and at the moment it is one of the important building materials in interior design.

Gypsum sheet has the following advantages:

  • It allows you to achieve a flat ceiling, without cracks of such bumps;
  • Very easy to use;
  • Under the drywall, you can lay a communications system, such as wires for lighting, pipes;
  • It is universal, can be used for ceiling installation in any room.

Using gypsum sheets, you can make not only one level on the ceiling, but also more than two. It all depends on desires and imagination.

Starting preparation for work, it is necessary to create a correct and detailed drawing of the future ceiling. You can create markup yourself on paper or using a computer program. You need to know the dimensions of the ceiling in order to properly position the guides and bearing profiles, duct and suspensions. Then it is desirable to transfer the drawing to the ceiling, using special building rulers of water or ordinary level or chipping cords. It is also necessary to take into account the location of the lamps, you need to think about how they will look in the general plan of the interior.

Do-it-yourself installation of a two-story ceiling from drywall: instructions step by step

Installation is quite difficult and it requires skill, sleight of hand, and expert advice. However, it is quite possible to make a two-level ceiling on your own, following various video tutorials and instructions.

Before proceeding with the installation, you need to make sure that everything you need is in place:

  • Directly drywall sheets;
  • Materials for processing joints and putty
  • Bearing and guide profiles;
  • U-shaped suspensions or knitting needles;
  • Anchor wedges or dowel nails;
  • Laser or water level;
  • Roulette;
  • Rotary hammer and screwdriver.

Getting to the installation itself, proceed carefully and strictly according to your drawing. Bunk ceilings are installed on a structure made using profiles and rails, which in turn are fixed on a concrete base. To create the first level in parallel lines located at an equal distance from each other, it is necessary to install guide profiles with dowels, then bent suspensions are attached to them.

In order for the profiles to be fixed exactly in the horizontal plane, you need to pull a line or thread onto the suspensions.

After installing the guides and suspensions, it is necessary to mount the SD profiles. They are first inserted into the guides, and then are already attached to the suspensions. Then perpendicular joints are screwed with special construction “crabs” to strengthen the entire structure.

The nuances of highlighting a plasterboard bunk ceiling

After the frame is installed, it is necessary to think again about the location and type of fixtures and wiring. For safety reasons, wiring can be kept in a corrugation or cable channel.

When choosing fixtures, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • Budget options;
  • Lighting paths;
  • Ceiling design.

Do not forget about the chandelier, many still use this subject of lighting decor, due to its practicality and beauty. Particular attention should be paid to the scheme by which lighting works will be carried out.

The type of connection with backlight can be selected from two options:

  • Connect devices directly from the network with a frequency and voltage of 220 V;
  • Use a step-down transformer with 12 V output.

The second scheme is most preferable because of its safety, although it is somewhat complicated and requires the participation of a specialist.

Do-it-yourself plasterboard covering of the bunk ceiling

When plasterboard sheathing the second level of the ceiling, it must be remembered that the seams should not coincide with the joints of the first tier. After laying the wiring, it is necessary to fix the drywall sheets with screws. Remember, you need seams to lie exactly on the profiles. Then, the edges of the sheets are processed with a planer to achieve symmetry and evenness.

After that, you can proceed to facing. It is necessary to finish the seams, cover them with a sickle solution and a fugenfueller, and after drying, process with an abrasive mesh. And finally, you can putty the entire surface in several layers and grind again. Now you can start painting.

You can paint the ceiling not only in white color, but also in all its shades, which will give the room a new and original look.

There are several nuances that you need to know when plating gypsum sheets:

  • Before sheathing it is recommended to process the cardboard with a special waterproofing solution;
  • Sheets must be staggered;
  • There should also be a gap between the sheets, which is subsequently processed by putty.

That's about how the installation process of a two-story gypsum board ceiling takes place.

Creating a bunk ceiling is a complicated and troublesome business. It is necessary to take care of the availability of all tools and materials. Of course, it is better to entrust the work to specialists who will ensure quality and safety. You can invent a diagram or a drawing yourself, which means that the type of frame can be very complicated, and for those who had no idea about installing the ceiling, it will be quite difficult to make two levels on the ceiling yourself. Come up with such a scheme, with the implementation of which you can definitely cope. Depending on the surface material, it is necessary to consider all the possible problems that will have to be faced.

There are three types of surfaces that you can work with:

  • Concrete;
  • Tree;
  • Brick.

Working with wood is very easy, and most importantly, natural material will only contribute to good ventilation of the ceiling.

DIY do-it-yourself drywall ceilings (video)

Installation of two-level ceilings is not an easy task, however, with due persistence and interest, you can always make such a ceiling with your own hands. The main thing is to remember that all over again the creation of a detailed and many times double-checked drawing is in progress, and only then you can proceed with the installation. And then the work will be done right and high quality from the very beginning.
